Routines I Really Enjoy
I’ve definitely written an article like this before but I am writing another one to remind myself of the routines I love. If there’s one thing I know about myself it is that routines keep me sane. I love being in a routine whether it is something small like drinking coffee every morning or large like exercising three times a week. Here are all the routines I do on a semi-regular basis.
- morning iced coffee
- daily journaling
- drinking 64 oz of water
- moving my body at least 3 times a week
- monthly facials 🤡
- making weekly grocery lists & weekly grocery shops
- weekly medium articles
- weekly therapy & monthly grief therapy
- oiling my hair once a week
- my skincare routine
- reading before bed
- nytimes mini & wordle & spelling bee before bed
As you can see, some of these are more essential than others for me. I don’t get monthly facials on a regular basis. I don’t oil my hair once a week all year long. However, when I do these things, I feel so much better about my life. I think a lot of us think we aren’t good at routine, but more often than not, there are things we do on a daily basis that we might not even recognize as a routine. Identifying these things as routines has been really helpful for me because it has given me a loose structure to my week. Everything else I do revolves around these small routines.
