Lovely NYC

This month started off a bit rough. I went on a fun work trip and came back feeling a bit overwhelmed. I’ve been getting back into my small routines, cooking and seeing friends. It’s been nice to get outside and have some warmer days. Overall, I’m feeling excited about life again, which tends to happen at the end of each February. Let’s get into my in’s and out’s.

In

  • SOUPS ❤ I made a really tasty tortilla soup this month that I loved.
  • going into the office (twice a week) has been really good for my mental health.
  • a version of these chicken dumpling burgers — made these in February and absolutely devoured them.
  • audio books!! continuing to listen to 1–2 audiobooks a month. It’s been great to listen on the go while walking through the streets of NYC.
  • flower arranging at home (such a fun activity to do with friends!!)
  • superiority burger is one of the best meals I’ve had in the past year.
  • poetry (always an in but shoutout to mary oliver’s devotions for getting me into poetry)
  • my new monos carry-on suitcase. excited to take her around the world!
  • scavenger hunts!!!!!!! & vodka pasta & peach ring soju cocktails ❤

Out

  • cold weather — I am so ready for the Spring I feel like I can taste it.
  • being dehydrated. I had a bad few weeks where I definitely didn’t drink enough water. Bringing that back into my routine (special shoutout to my new Owala.
  • isolating myself. I think january and february are big isolation months for me but I’m ready to break out of my room and start socializing.
  • sweets lol — I consumed SO MANY sweets this month. All of them were fantastic but I need to take it down a notch.
  • being stuck in pants & cheaply made clothing. this has been out for a while but I need to buy a new pair of black jeans because the zipper broke on my favorite pair.

Reflections

I hope Mr. Punxsutawney Phil was right this year, because I am so ready for Spring. This month was filled with so much joy and friendship. I can’t believe I turned 26 years old this month. It’s so weird to get older and every year my birthday feels more and more irrelevant. Thank you to all of my friends and family for making me feel so loved this month ❤
