Chocolate Chip Banana Bread — My Recipe

To be fair you could probably find this recipe somewhere else on the internet, but this is my version of chocolate chip banana bread that I have perfected over the years and I have yet to find a better tasting, moist banana bread.

  • 1 cup of butter (1 stick)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 1/2 cup of chocolate chips (you can add more if you like)

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a small bowl, melt the stick of butter until fully melted or soft.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add melted butter and eggs.
  4. Mix those up with a hand mixer till it is a pretty unified mixture.
  5. Add flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  6. Mix those up till it is a pretty unified mixture. (It won’t mix well because the mixture is still gonna be a little try at this point).
  7. Add in those bananas! Mash them with your hands as you add them in.
  8. Mix it up till you can’t see any banana chunks or flour anymore. Everything should be cohesive.
  9. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  10. Put mixture in a greased bread loaf pan.
  11. Stick it in the oven for 70 minutes.
  12. Toothpick should come out clean-ish when it is done.
  13. Let it cool for 20 minutes and you should be ready to eat it!!!

Some people like adding nuts to their banana bread but I dislike nuts in dessert and my brother is allergic so I don’t add those. You can definitely add them if you like. This banana bread tastes really good even a couple days later, make sure to stick it in the microwave for 15 seconds and it tastes extra gooey and yummy.

Let me know if you try out this recipe :)
