Take My Hand by Dolen Perkins-Valdez
This book was the perfect mix of history, drama and romance. It follows the story of a nurse who worked at a clinic in Alabama where the upper management coerced poor black families, specifically young women into sterilization surgeries. The story is very easy to follow and explains the devastating nature of these surgeries and how these women were taken advantage of.
