🏆 Best Book of the Year
Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer
AHHHH I wish I could give this book 10 stars because that’s what it deserves. This book should be required reading in high school biology class, although maybe I wouldn’t have the same appreciation for it if I had read it in high school. I could also write an essay on this book, and I probably will. Robin Wall Kimmerer brings together her Indigenous heritage and botanist knowledge by highlighting the teachings of a different plant in each chapter. Her writing is so incredibly beautiful. Everything is described with depth and texture and love. Her writing is philosophical yet tangible and it is a true blessing to read. I highly highly recommend this book to everyone and anyone who can get their hands on it!
