friends & family & all loved ones
I feel most grateful for all the lovely people I have in my life. When I look back on this year, I’ve realized I’ve gotten to see SO MANY people. It has honestly been so awesome and has made the world feel more “normal”. I’ve had the fortune to go on trips with some of my closest friends, visit them in their home cities and go on road trips with my significant other. I’ve also been able to visit my hometown a lot and see my family which is always so relaxing. This year was also big for finding new friendships and building on them. It has been exciting to form new connections with people in different parts of my life.
food
This has been a big year for food, I guess every year is a big year for food. NYC has a seemingly endless pool of new restaurants to go to. I’ve been able to try so many new places, Her Name is Han, Rowdy Rooster, Ariari to name a few. I have cooked more than I ever have in the past. It has been so exciting to try out new recipes, go grocery shopping and COOK! I find it so relaxing and feel so grateful to have access to so much yummy food.
therapy
This is the first time in my life I’ve been in “regular” therapy for an extended amount of time. I am so grateful to have someone I can talk to every week about my life, as mundane as it might be at some points in time. I am also grateful for the group grief therapy sessions I attend from time to time. Therapy has been a good outlet for me and I feel much more stable than I have in the past.
traveling
It does feel like covid is coming to an end which is exciting. This year was filled with travels to Costa Rica, California, Montreal, India, the UP, and soon to be Orlando and New Orleans. I love traveling so much and it has made me feel so good. Planning trips is something that I really enjoy doing and I like having something to look forward to. Most of my trips were out in nature which was also very relaxing and grounding.
new york city
The good ol’ big apple, I am so grateful for you. I don’t want to be that girl but New York City has grown to have such a large place in my heart. This city is so energetic and has forced me out of my comfort zone so many times. I feel eternally grateful for everything I’ve learned in the past two years here. The city keeps me on my toes and has also introduced me to countless new people. I don’t think I’ll be in the big apple forever but I am so grateful to be here for the time being.
f45
The list is not complete unless I talk about my favorite workout class, f45. I’ve been going to f45 pretty consistently for a while now and it has been so good for my physical and mental health. I have especially been loving the strength based classes and have found myself building muscle mass! It is such a positive environment and gives me a good sense of routine and structure to my life. Thank you f45 ❤
reading & the nypl
I am still reading! Ever since the pandemic started, I stuck my head inside a book and haven’t been able to get it out. Books have given me the opportunity to explore different worlds from the sweet comfort of my bed. Reading calms me down and helps me sleep. I am also very grateful to have access to one of the best public library systems, big shout-out to the NYPL.
writing medium articles
Kinda meta but I have been writing these articles for so damn long and for some reason I can’t stop. They are a good outlet for me to dump any ideas I’ve had that week, no matter how lame they might be. Writing allows me to explore my thoughts in a way I can’t do verbally. Thank you to all my supporters who continue to read these articles, despite their lack of substance at times.
my job
In this time and age, I am definitely lucky to have a job that I like. I really love the people I work with and feel grateful to be able to do something that I enjoy on a day to day basis.
laughter
It’s been so dang nice to laugh a lot this year. Whether it is with friends or at a comedy show, I feel like I’ve laughed SO much this year. Laughing makes me feel so good. It has also made me want to explore comedy more because I, too, enjoy making people laugh.
Thank you all for following along. Happy Thanksgiving ❤
